Just imagine Carter out of all players on the tour saying: "John Higgins is not scared of playing Ronnie."
I really don't have anything agaist Carter- he just ruined last years final. I just hope it won't be a re-run of last years final this year with the same players.
I have to agree with Carter (who, by the way, is my favourite player - so no surprises there!), but I think Ronnie will have one of his tournaments where he comes up against a grinder and loses his cool.
Does nobody else think Mark Allen will take him out in RD 2?
In all honesty - and respect for Mark Allen - I think there are more chances for Bingham taking him out in round 1. Bingham knows him and his game, he will not be afraid and round 1 is always difficult for the seeds. But with Ronnie you never know of course...
As a Ronnie supporter I'm not building my hopes too high that he will win, as he hasnt been playing so great, by his standards, this season. But as always you never know what to expect from him.
Isnt this the fascinating thing about Ronnie, that theres no way of guessing whether he will play brilliantly and win the whole event or fizzle out at some point before.
I know this applies to all players to some extent, but it apllies more so to Ronnie IMO, as at his best most players wont get near him, and even on his B, C and lower games he still beats many of them.
I agree with other posters that this comment is wishfull thinking from Carter, he just hopes someone else will take Ronnie out as he cant do it himself. Maybe Ronnie will want to prove Carter wrong, who knows.
"You can shove your snooker up your jacksie 'cos I aint playing no more!" Alex Higgins.

& plus he (Ronnie) may end up using another cue or trying a few out for Sheffield like he mentioned in the 'racing post' interview. Could make things very interesting indeed though i'm still sure he will take some beating whichever cue he uses!
"Statistics won't tell you much about me. I play for love, not records."
Carter should just play his snooker, over the years he has had a lot of problems closing matches out so he really should leave the mind games to proven winners.

Mark has been for me, the second most disappointing Top 16 player this season (the other being King). I'd expect him to get to a final at least now that he didn't have to qualify for the venues... in all honesty I can't see him doing well at the crucible.

I agree that im disappointed he hasnt done better but I wouldnt say I "expect" him to reach a final.
Always play snooker with a smile on your face...You never know when you'll pot your last ball.
