Does nobody else think Mark Allen will take him out in RD 2?

In all honesty - and respect for Mark Allen - I think there are more chances for Bingham taking him out in round 1. Bingham knows him and his game, he will not be afraid and round 1 is always difficult for the seeds. But with Ronnie you never know of course...

Mark has been for me, the second most disappointing Top 16 player this season (the other being King). I'd expect him to get to a final at least now that he didn't have to qualify for the venues... in all honesty I can't see him doing well at the crucible.

I agree that im disappointed he hasnt done better but I wouldnt say I "expect" him to reach a final.

I'l take that as a no then!

I think he can. It has the potential to be a classic especially if Allen has his fans in to counter O'Sullivan's. Might see another incident like 2006 where he asked for a Dott fan to be removed. I can picture Allen winning 13-11 on the saturday morning.

Well Carter was never the smartest of all players, but he indeed is even more stupid than I thought by saying things like this.

Yeah,that surprised me too. I mean, Greene is a great player, but I don't consider him to be a player of the same standard as Ali.
I think maybe the press has blown this up a bit (as they usually do). For Ali to say that he doesn't think Ronnie will be able to defend his title isn't really that controversial IMO. I actually don't think Ronnie will win this year either. Like someone said earlier, if he comes up against a grinder, he might well lose his cool and be out of the WC. Also, being the defending champion, he has even more pressure on him than usual.But I wouldn't expect an early exit.
And if he does reach a final, I'm pretty sure he'll win it.

Assuming Allen and Ronnie meet, I see it being a quickfire match. Good point from Alex0Paul in terms of fans. Normally Ronnie has the crowd on his side, but Mark should have good vocal support. Ronnie is obviously favourite, but Mark loves the big occasion and that could help. So yes, I think he could win, but I won't be betting on it - I'll just sit back and enjoy!

His long potting is certainly better than Ronnies, but he needs to cut out careless shots as these will be punished much more severly by Ronnie. But having said that, I think Mark has played ok today - he will be much more up for playing Ronnie and his game will on fire - it will need to be to stand chance.
