As the biggest and best tournament in the sporting world is about to get underway, I was just wondering if anyone does anything special for the final. I usually just watch in the comfort of my own home with a few beers, what do you do?

Will be watching the Final at home on my new Bravia tv sitting - in my big red comfy Italian chair with a few bottles of Fosters ice by my side - & a Kit Kat & i'm as happy as a sand boy!Last edited by spike; 17 April 2009, 08:24 PM."Statistics won't tell you much about me. Haha, very optimistic.
The ritual depends on WHO is playing. If it's not Neil (or someone I like) I catch up the final, but I'm not quite following.. Usually I play the cello, or drawing/painting, or reading.. and from time to time I take a look...I'm back!:].

Just before the final will start, I will hit the record button, sit back with a bottle of water and enjoy the final.http://i50.tinypic.com/oi62rr.jpg

Well, the time has come.
I have already informed the family that I will be watching the final session from 8.55 until it ends, and that they should kindly remove themselves or at least not cause any distractions.
The final session of the WC is a special occasion, and I like to watch it on TV in the comfort of my living room. Just to be on the safe side, I'll load a BBC stream on the computer, in case Eurosport has a blackout again, like they did in the 2006 final, right in the middle of that 70min frame. I almost went crazy that time, thankfully it was only a minute or so.
For me, if it doesn't go past midnight, it's not a true World final, and it's not looking good this year. Three hours of play is at least six frames, and that's taking it slow, so anything over 18-12 would be close enough for me. Last year's final was quite disappointing, so I hope it's not two years in a row. But even if it's short, Higgins deserves respect for the way he's played in this tournament and this final.
So... the TV is ready, my drink and snacks are in place, the stream is on hold, the distractions are gone, and I am mentally prepared to watch great snooker. Let's hope for the best, it's up to the players now.
I would like to wish everyone a pleasant time (the longer, the better), especially those from the other side of the world, who are up in the middle of the night, and those that have to go out of their way to watch it on the internet.
And if I'm not here to discuss it afterwards, that means I've either had a heart attack or there's been a blackout.

I know he wouldn't, he doesn't even know I exist! (OK, he read my name when he denied my 3rd Facebook request, but he doesn't know me).
And I envy you of that Toblerone. I am ill, not just the usual tonsils problem, but I managed to pick up a stomach virus too so now I am sick of everything..I'm back!:].
