  • it was an interesting game. Ronnie missing a couple of long pots and not looking very happy with it. but obviously bingham didn't take the chance.
will be an interesting day today: F1 in China (rain!!!), Snooker, FA-cup... what a nice couch potatoe sports day.

      .
Yeah he looked resigned to loosing quite eealry on. Indeed in the interview they showed before the match he was saying he'd be lucky to get 2 or 3 frames against Ronnie.

It seems to me that being Ronnie's practice partner is a terrible preperation to meeting him in the world championships. His practice partner opponents give him the match before it even starts.

      • Did any of you guys read Bingham's interview in the Sun Newspaper yesterday?
He was saying he'd only booked a room for 2 nights as he didn't expect to get past Ronnie. Bingham was too honest for his own good IMO!

Yeah totally. Maybe he and Carter though they were just being realistic about their chances agianst Ronnie.

BUT Ronnie does get beaten, outplayed and caught out. Many of the top players have the abilty to do it; and some players like O'Brien, Walden, Fu, Robertson etc have also had the self-belief to do it.

It seems being Ronnies practice partner must batter your self confidence. Which leads me to ask why anyone would want to.

Also, Carter being Ronnie's practice partner appears to have done him certain favours.

I meant Fergal O'Brien, not the Obrien on there

I guess you are right about Carter. He does seem to have raised his game to a new level. Maybe practicing with ronnie did have some benefits.

Does he seem very different to anyone this year?

His facial expression yesterday seemed to be one of arrogance and aggression. I guess you need a bit of that in competitive sport after all, but he seems to be diplaying that far more extremely than ive ever seen him do before. Maybe he believes he's going to win it this year and he's really pumping himself up.

One of the more popular qualifiers on TSF in respect to knocking a seed out.

                          • I think Greene got a bit frustrated with the run of the balls. I would hardly call his performance terrible however - He still has a sniff at 6-3 and personally I thought Carter wasn't impressive either, so if Greene can get his game together he could still make it interesting.

Yes, two good frames - it must be tough to get into a flow against McLeod, but hopefully King can start pulling away now as IMO he is better to watch. Good news is that Mark Allen is back, so I'm flicking over again!

And a good start to the 5th frame

I know Gerard personally and have played against him a couple of times and i certainly wouldn't say he's boring! He may not have played that well yesterday but did remember he did not have a kind run of the ball also. I think we will see a better performance from him today.
