  • Perry is still in command. When he's at the table, the atmosphere changes completely. The table is stunned, scared even

Yes, now that you mentioned it, I think I saw the table shivered, before it shut its pockets...may be that is why Perry missed?

        • The ranking race is tightening up. If Ding loses tomorrow, what is the probability that he will be back next season at the qualifying school?

Yes, I think that is what they are saying.

I still see Ding as a better player than Liang but his performance in the final frame was really a shame.

I still believe Ding will win over Liang though.

            • I would enjoy watching Cape than Davis even may be to some people Davis game has more "dimensions."

Today's snooker is about potting balls. If you cannot pot, you cannot win. Most viewers do not like to watch guys keep missing balls after balls anyway. I am not saying Davis is like that though, just that I like the faster paced game.

I enjoy watching Cope being so fluid and smooth around the table when he is among the balls. Perry is a great player as well, and I also enjoy watching him--I guess I just feel like pulling for the slight underdog here.

              • Steve Davis, The Legend, playing today in his Crucible. Still something magic isn't it...
I saw that going differently in my mind

                • Is it for sure that Ding will drop out of top 16 if he loses today? It was a bit tense affair yesterday. Hard to say which one will prevail... But whatever happens, i'm sure Ding will bounce back at some point.

if cope doesnt beat perry i dont think anyone can drop out, unless Lee, Wenbo, Davis, Holt or Dott go on to win the tournament.

in fact if ding wins, Cope will need to make the semi's anyway to catch mark williams or mark king if king loses in rd2.

so it pretty much boils down to Ding or Cope really

His position is quite but not totally safe. I think Jamie Cope needs to reach the quarter finals to overtake if he loses today. Aside from that a miracle run to semis or beyond by another qualifier is required.

                        • I think we're going to be in for a lot of drama this morning with Ding - Liang with plenty of thrills & spills. It has all the makings of a deciding frame IMO!

Hope so! There's not been a really close match yet. Hawkins - Dott was the closest and Hawkins had a good chance to make it 9-9. 2003 was the last year with no deciders, so it is quite rare. Last couple of years have had quite a few.

I think Ken Doherty played full 19 frames in the first round in 2003. And couple of more deciders on his way to the final
