Whatever the result its great to see Ding fighting in his matches. Also I am amazed at how much he has come out of his shell in terms of joking with the crowd or showing his emotions.

Eurosport commentators said it was the second time this week Ding smiled... ... sad he lost this match.

He has alternative strategies, if he meets Ronnie, all based on the same principle: bore Ronnie to tears with slow safety play. Ronnie's most 'memorable' losses, such as against Dott, Ebdon, or even Selby, were when he himself declared having found the match boring. Ronnie hasn't looked especially sharp by his own standards, so it is very achievable.
