    Why confused?
It is quite simple to explain.
The difference is a result of their characters.
Those two are totally different personalities.
Graeme is a lovely guy who supported his wife during serious disease.
His reaction was simply heroic. He won against the odds, against experts who said:"you are finished".
Mark is daring but an arrogant bloke. He does not respect any authorities.People love him or hate him.Ask Reanne, his ex-wife whose he left.
His reaction was not heroic it was daring.
But their common virtue is they both played fantastic.

fair enough, i understand your point

ive never met either of the players so cant really pass judgement on what type of person either one is, i just see it as both players showing the same emotion (excitement) at getting through to the next round.

wildhoney ... I wonder if you met and know any of these guys personally or know anything about their private lives. So I'm not sure on what you base such judgement.

and as for respect for authorities... and this is a very, very personal point of view ... I don't rate that as a virtue really. It's basically the reason why 6000000 Jews and incidentally most of my father's family disappeared into smoke. Not to mention Roms, homosexuals and communists Hiding behind authorities to abdicate responsibility it was. I'd rather have respect for the persons and a crititical mind.

Nothing wrong with not respecting authorities blindly, as Mon has pointed out. We can't all be sheep

As for ex wives... I don't know the story, there are always (at least) two sides to any story, and we're not going to get an unbiased account of it here, so let's just leave it, eh?

          Today's schedule:

          2pm
          Graeme Dott v Mark Selby
          Mark King v Stephen Maguire

          7pm
John Higgins v Jamie Cope 4-4
Ali Carter v Neil Robertson 3-5
Das war ein FLUKE! Ein Glückstreffer!

So do I, because I'm spiteful and would love to crush his crystal ball where he saw that Ronnie would go out early.
And I want a new champion this year so no Hendry, no Higgins, no Murphy! C'mon, snooker gods up there! Indulge a fan a bit disheartened...

A bit overdone on a snookerforum.
I saw that going differently in my mind

                    • Bit of a borefest this afternoon, Selby vs Dott has the makings of a very dour tactical exchange with a lot of scrappy frames, hope I'm wrong. King and Maguire won't exactly be flowing either but at least both players are more attack minded. Shame they couldn't put one of this evenings matches on this afternoon as I wanted to watch both those games.

                      • Here we go again...

I've just watched Ronnie's post match interview, and what a surprise! Whinge, moan, depression, not enjoying playing, thinking about future in the game, didn't play well..... yada yada yada yah. I'm absolutely sick to death of his whining and whingeing after every single defeat he suffers, It's embarrassing. It's also amazing how this 'clinical' depression of his only ever surfaces when he's lost. I guarantee that if he'd won against Allen, he'd have been laughing and joking with the press at the PMI, and telling us all how much he's enjoying life and the game. Why doesn't he act lake a man, and take it on the chin, he lost to a better player on the day, end of story, instead of all these pathetic excuses and sob stories. GROW UP MAN!
And as for his continual threats/promises to leave the game altogether, he should either put up, or shut up.
I'm now thoroughly looking forward to 9 days of 'Osullivan antics' free snooker.
                        The fast and the furious,
                        The slow and labourious,
All of us, glorious parts of the whole!

Though I' m a very big fan of Osullivan's game I admit there are some fair points in what you are writing. His post-defeat interviews are becoming a little stereotype. I do consider him the best player ever but all that blablabla after a defeat is really very annoying.

                            • According to Statsman stats : The longest frame in Crucible history was the 27th frame of the 2006 final between Graeme Dott and Peter Ebdon, which lasted 74 minutes and 8 seconds ......Maguire and King are playing a frame for 71 minutes

terrible really, its only the 2nd frame of the match and is really doing the game no good. There has to be an element of entertainment for any sport and this as I predicted earlier I knew it was going to be a borefest.
