  • Postcard from Sheffield: Day 9

Hi folks. 23 sessions gone, 23 to go! So what news since I last wrote? Well not a lot really, just the same old... snooker, alcohol, meeting people, nattering!

Can't think of any major on-table stories from the last couple of days. Oh yes I can, some chap called O'Sullivan got knocked out. Apparently he was thought of by some as a player who had a chance of winning!

Seriously, though, it's been pretty good stuff; the record number of centuries (68, as I'm sure you know) looks set to be beaten with, I think, more than 40 already.

Sheffield is today dominated by lovely sunshine and the Half Marathon. Many of you will know James, the man with the big hair, as a regular snookergoer and he was running this morning. I could lie and tell you that I was doing it as well, but a night's heavyish drinking would not have been the ideal preparation if that were the case!

Anyway, we're glad of the morning off today and looking forward to the action recommencing in a couple of hours' time.

So as ever I'll wish you enjoyable snooker watching, however and wherever you are doing it.

    Wish you were here!
