  • What a terrible session for Stephen so far. He'd be happy to trail 9-7 overnight I think.

    • Hendry is just trying too much. Murphy is giving him enough chances, not many but still enough to win frames.

      • Hendry really needs to win this frame or the last of this session to have any chance of winning this match i feel. Hendry making quite a lot of unforced errors tonight which is worrying.

        • Stephen is potting the hard ones and missing sitters, no explanation for that.

          • he mucks up the ones that you dont think he could possibly miss and then sinks that long yellow straight down the middle of the pocket

            • Well if Hendry can make it 8-8 he would feel happier than Murphy as Murphy has played the better Snooker tonight!

The three quarter ball pink he missed while leaning over the green spot area - he's missed a number of shots like that to the same pocket over the last few years. He nearly always misses them on the thin side, and struggles with them even when he's playing well. He actually said (last season?) that it was one of a few certain shots that he really isn't comfortable with these days. He played one in the 147 today too that just rattled in on the thin side.

No idea why those shots in particular should trouble him as they're really not that difficult, but it makes me nervous every time I see him attempt one.

Yes, i've heard that, but i'm sure Parot and Taylor were wrong.
Stephen shouldn't worry too much, having in mind that Shaun simply can't play tomorrow as good as this evening. This kind of sessions don't occur too often for a player.

                        • I don't expect a player like Murphy to give this away anymore. It has to be said that Shaun once inthe balls is very fluent and nice to watch.
Hendry is making mistakes he can afford against Murphy. But tomorrow is another day.
I saw that going differently in my mind

                          • I think Murphy will sleep quite well tonight, I'm sure he was not expecting to win the session 6-2. Hendry will probably be happy that he's still in the match. He's missed more easy shots tonight than in all the other sessions put together. The way Hendry played this morning against the way Murphy played tonight, that would be a close call at 8-8. At 9-7, Murphy has the edge.

                            • First thought of the morning... Hendry needs to win the first mini-session 3-1, to make it 10-10. It might be leaving it a bit late if it gets to 9-11.

                              • An outrageous fluke gives Murphy a very vital three-frame advantage.
