He is only 5000 points behind Ronnie after 2nd round so should he win and receive the 10000 points id expect him to overtake him.

Day v Allen: I would have liked to predict Day as the winner, as he is one of my favourite players, but I think Allen might eventually win this one. Allen will be on a major high after having knocked ROS out, but this could give Day a subtle advantage. Day's form seems to have gone from so-so to and has picked up during the championship, but he has previously fallen completely apart in important matches.
Higgins v Selby: Very hard to call, and I simply don't know, all I'm hoping for is that it will be a pacier game than the Dott affair, as that would suit Higgins. It will be a less chummy affair, though, I don't expect John to go along with the jestering. John will have to stop with the silly misses, because Selby will be even less likely to give him several chances at taking the frames.
Murpy v Hendry: Murphy to win here. He's not bothered by anyone's reputation and is a fighter. If Hendry does produce similar form to his previous match, that would be great and of course he could go on to clinch the match, but I don't think he will.
Maguire v Robertson: Having gotten through the King match without completely breaking down, I think (hope!) Maguire will shine here, given the opportunity to play his natural game without the possibility of getting bogged down in kingesque frames. Might get a couple of missfests, though.
Then again, I could be completely wrong on all accounts. Looking forward to seeing it all unfold!!

Day-Allen: These two can produce a very good match if they can overcome emotions, because both can score heavilly. Close match but i think Day will win it.
Higgins-Selby: Another close one. As others said Selby defeated John in every match after the 2007 final. I think its John turn to win even though Selby will try and get him off rhythm. He is in a too good form, he can win a frame in one visit and is great at safeties. Oh, and yesterday match gave him a great confidence boost. Higgins to win this one 13-10 or 13-11.
Murphy-Hendry: Murphy to me in this one. He is not bothered by anything these days and he seems to be raising his game from one match to another. Hendry showed good form in the previous rounds and it will be hard to maintain that form, one week session and it could be over for him. So, ill go for Murphy in this quarter.
Maguire v Robertson : Maguire has the upper hand in this one. He defeated Robertson a few times allready and knows how to handle him. I am afraid Robertson burned out after the match against Carter. Maguire to progress into the semis."There has only ever been Alex Higgins, myself and now Ronnie O'sullivan who play the game the way it should be played with such excitement - I know the fans love it this way" - Jimmy White

Murphy needs to improve on 88% pot success and quickly as hendry is playing well this morning and is 3-1 up at the mid session interval.
Day is in the balls and looks like levelling at 2-2 in his match against Mark Allen.Always play snooker with a smile on your face...You never know when you'll pot your last ball.

Great start from Hendry, 3-1 up at the tea break Got some problems with linedrops, so I keep missing bits and pieces of the frames, but it certainly looks like Hendry is continuing from his previous match in terms of standard of play.
The tournament long pot success for Murphy and Hendry seems a bit dire at below 60% for both (Hendry slightly higher).
Day and Allen are at 2-2.Last edited by Maija; 28 April 2009, 10:18 AM.Das war ein FLUKE! Ein Glückstreffer!

I'm not convinced by Hendry yet. I'm pleased that he's 3-1 up but despite the century he hasn't looked quite as assured as he did against Ding, and he has a particularly generous table to thank for quite a few of his contributions so far.
Murphy's missed quite a few and will improve I think, it's up to Hendry to stay on top.

Some of these shots over the past week have seemed destined to rattle some even catching the cushion at some pace yet still drop in anyone else noticed.Always play snooker with a smile on your face...You never know when you'll pot your last ball.
