Allen and Day aren't going to win it now. Even if they came through their half of the draw they're guaranteed to be up against an experienced winner. Their best chance would be Hendry if he had an 'off' session.

I know im dreaming, but I still think that Allen and Day are top competitors at thier best.

I would also like to see a new World Champion if Hendry doesnt win

        My analysis:

Allen v Day: probably the two least likely winners. I've never been a fan of Day all though he does have all the attributes of winning tournaments - except the skill of actually winning a tournament. As for Allen, I tried doing some research, but its a bit hazy. So here it is; the players who beat O'Sullivan in 2006 and 2007 went on to win the WC. Note: both players have not won a ranking tournament.

Higgins v Selby: my favourite player, Higgins, I'd love to see him win it, but Selby is a tough opponent. Selby's time will come, I have a feeling it might his year (to reach the final). COME ON JOHN!!!

Hendry v Murphy: as I said, nostalga for Hendry. I think this recurrent interest in Hendry is a bit premature and too frequent. It seems that every time he shows some form, sadly, we all think he is back to his best, I hope its true, but I'm a realist. Shaun Murphy, thus far, I think he has been the best player and just like at the UK, he has been running under the radar. Add to this, if he does get past Hendry, I think he'll beat either Robertson or Maguire

Robertson v Macguire: just reading history, Maguire over Robertson rather easily.

Heart says Higgins/Hendry, head says Murphy.

I would love to see Higgins and Maguire in the final. And Maguire to win it, although i like them both....in fact, may the best Scot wins (from this 2 lads).

Hard to tell. I think Maguire is the one to beat with Higgins just behind him. But honestly I wouldn't put my money on it.
              Murphy the most dangerous outsider.
I saw that going differently in my mind

Any one of the players could win it, the standard is so high, it is hard to pick a winner. My money is on for a new WC in Allen or Robertson, even if they don't manage it they can be proud of the way they play the game, I have enjoyed watching every second of their play. For me this is the highest overall standard snooker has ever been and they all seem to be hitting form all together. All the players left as well as some that did not make it this far have raised the bar to incredible levels and they should be playing for a million pounds because their efforts deserve it.

im sticking with robertson but beating maguire is key for him as he's never turned up against him before. if he gets past maguire he'l beat murphy, if maguire wins murphy will get to the final.

in the other half the winner of day/allen wont get past higgins/selby for me.

regardless of who does go through i can see the final being a classic and certainly not a one sided affair like 2008.

i think we've all wanted to see the likes of selby maguire murphy and robertson competing iagainst each other in major finals and this could be the one!

no disrespect but we've seen Harold, Walden, Stevens, Ebdon and Swail make ranking finals unexpectedly this year only the uk and the masters have brought us finals against two players at the very top of the sport and they were the most exciting finals this year and now any combination of finalist should bring us an equally gripping world final.

i dont want this tournament to end but i cannot wait for the final!

World number 4 is hardly an outsider is it.

my hopes are for Higgins, but I still say Mark Selby is favourite.

Higgins will win it. no doubt.

Selby and Maguire are good enough but will both bottle it. Same goes for Day and Allen.

Hendry (eventhough is playing well) Is not good enough now. and we cannot have an Arrogant Aussie winning it.

Murphy is not playing well enough to win it. He was lucky to get past Higginson in Round one and Fu was awful in Round two
