I agree it does not look good, but you have to remember there are about 3 (yes, three) snooker tables in the whole of Portugal. This series are about bring snooker to new places (like this) and cashing in on excisting markets (like Berlin and Moscow), and it's a lot better to do it this way than to stage expensive ranking tournaments like in Bahrain!
Hegeland,
Yes, I appreciate the qualification, nevertheless and after further viewing, this display could have and should have been better - not from the players I hasten to add - but from the general playing conditions which are pretty poor - we tend to criticise the WSA about this, possibly with justification, yet these conditions are probably no better than I would expect at my local club.
Commentary is suggesting that the non professionals will not be used to playing in these conditions??
I still think that the game deserves better than this.
Edit, need to add that I do understand that some players may well not be used to TV exposure but they should be used to the table conditions that the professionals play in.
They have underestimated the time for a 6- and 10-red game by some margin. It was supposed to be Davis v Doherty on this table after this one! Thankfully they knew that putting Davis on in a best of 9 when the clock is ticking towards eleven would not be fair to any Portuguese intending to get out of bed befoore noon tomorrow!
