I don´t know if your response was directed at me ?

To put things clear I was very surprised to see Doherty lose that way as he isn´t a player that normally loses 7 frames in a row so I was plain simple curious about if anybody had some knowledge about what was going on in that match and why it had such a dramatic turnaround.

Has anyone read about that match ? I wouldn´t expect Doherty to be the kind of player that fell totally apart.

I was present at the weekend and watched a fair bit of the match, in between flitting to others.

Doherty really couldn't do anything right in the final session, missing a number of relatively straightforward balls at not particularly important stages of the match. It was clear when Robertson levelled at 6-6 having started the session 3-6 down that only the potential problems of getting over the line at such an important breakthrough in his career would assist Doherty in pulling through, unless Doherty seriously pulled something special out of the fire.

Unfortunately for him, he was unable to better his performance in the first three evening frames.

Having said all that, Robertson was very impressive.
