  • World Championship Draw

I expected that there would be a thread already for discussion and reaction to today's draw.

The draw will take place at 10:45am - that's in 20 minutes' time!

If somone could put the results of the draw into a post on this thread, I'd be grateful.

Thanks - but unfortunately I can't get to that site at work. Any chance someone could reproduce the information here?

It looks like Higgins, Williams, Fu and Allen got the most dangerous qualifiers.

On the other hand, I think Carter, Ding, Selby, Cope, Murphy and O'Sullivan will be quite pleased.

            some great matchups in there:

Robertson v Trump - great way to start tournament
Fu v Gould - repeat of 1st round last year
Ebdon v Bingham - should be close
Williams v Day - could be tricky for Mark
Allen v Stevens - tie of the round?

The way Ronnie has been playing in ranking events lately, I wouldn't put my money on him to get past Dale

Ricky & Rory could be a veeeeery long match

Mark J. & Day sounds like it could be very tricky :snooker:

Dotty v King would be very interesting to watch especially with the way King has been playing lately, same goes for Allen v Stevens :snooker:

Tough encounter for Stephen Lee. I don't fancy his chances despite his recent resurgence

Pagett could very well upset Cope

And I'd like to see Hendry get past Perry :snooker:

Some great match ups and I reckon quite a few seeds will be tumbling first round.

I don't envy the bottom half of the draw at all. Whoever comes through that section the question has to be will they have enough left in the tank for the final. Top half I think is a lot easier, potentially a first world title for Ding or Selby is how I see it. Bottom half obviously Higgins is favourite but Murphy looked good this weekend, maybe Ronnie being fresh could spring a surprise.

I'm gonna stick my neck out and predict a Ding v Murphy final.

Ding and Selby are definitely in the weakest quarter - this is a real opportunity for one of them (I hope that will be Ding but think it could be too soon for him sadly)
