Which is sad, considering John is a far better player.

Eh? Shouldn't that read either 12 years after his last one or 21 years after his first one.

But isn't temperament just another part of what makes one player better than another?

Well.. first you have to define your criteria Are you asking who the better player is over a season, or in a short final, or a long final, or at an exhibition match ...

For me, the criteria would simply be the player's entire career up to the present date.

Ok, er should Peter Edbon win the World Championship this year he will only be the second man after Joe Davis to win the title 9 years after his first one.

Anyone else got time off work to watch it?

I've got almost the whole thing off. I'm such a snooker geek.

Yep, I intend taking the whole two weeks off work, as I do every year. This is effectively my summer holiday, and I LOVE it!

Of course! Finish work on Thursday and return on 4 May.

Where else would one be but Sheffield during these two weeks?!

I'm not sure if you can count Joe Davis. For the majority of his World Championships he beat 3 players, on a couple of occasions he beat ONE player.

Joe was a legend for his time, but come on... you cannot count that.
