      • Why aren´t they allowed to play to 16 frames ? No one´s coming to the table afterwards.

Actually i think that is terrible, it sends the message out that you don't consider yourself good enough to get them !

9-7 to Bingham but he is letting it slip, He was 8-4 up.
Ding is looking more dangerous by the frame and if Bingham needs to tighten his safety bcoz he may end up losing 13-10 or 13-11.

well, conceding is always a good way to keep energy for the next ones, especially in Sheffield.
We see that in other sports (tennis...) or even in chess !

Not conceding is uncommon, by now.

Selby doesn't need that frame to win against Hendry : he's far better.

There's no obvious reason for doing it and celebrating a 12-4 like he did.

Conceding a frame is a personal decision. Some players concede, some dont. As long as no rules are break it s fine. IMO your problem is the fact Hendry was involved. If Selbys opponent was another player the debate wouldnt have lasted so long. It is frustrating to see the great man humiliated like that, but that is snooker. He had chances to finish the frame, he didnt and he lost it.
"There has only ever been Alex Higgins, myself and now Ronnie O'sullivan who play the game the way it should be played with such excitement - I know the fans love it this way" - Jimmy White

Hendry has lost several frames like that these past 2 years.
Hendry quite always concedes and he's the king anyway.

It reminds me of a player running everywhere after scoring the fifth goal against a relegated team.

Selby played really great these 2 sessions.
He has really good chances to go far thanks to an easy draw.
                        Maybe his year ?
It should be interesting to see how he deals with a man who never gives up if he meets Graeme Dott in the semis.

So long, Rory. Please don't qualify again!

                            • Well, that's that. Hendry will just hope Bingham loses now.
