    • fair play to selby for some respectful quotes on hendry after the match:

Stephen has been great for the sport and I wouldn't like to see him retire," said Selby.

"When he was in the balls he still looked as good as ever. I've played him a few times over the last couple of years and that's been the best he's looked.

"He's the one who set the standard so high and I've dominated in one game but he did it for years.

"In my eyes he's the greatest player to have played the game. When he was at his peak his belief was always higher than anyone's but now he is losing to players he probably thinks he shouldn't do.

"When you played him before when he got in the balls you thought it was frame over but now you think 'I might have a chance'.

"The standard of snooker he is playing is not as good as he used to and that must be hard for him.

"I used to love watching Jimmy White but as far as idols go the player I looked up to was definitely Stephen."

      • Can't believe someone would post a hoax story, I wouldn't have believed it if I'd seen it but still, I suppose at least the punters are getting more frames now!!

Great to read that, a fitting tribute to one of the greatest sportsmen ever!

Got money on Ding, but knowing about the top 16 stuff, I DEFINITELY want him to win now, COME ON DING!!!!

                • The most important session of Bingham's life tonight. Chance to break into the Top 16 and (possibly) retire a legend at the same time. And with Ronnie-Murphy at 9-7.... it's going to be classic crucible drama tonight!

Will make up for the relative short session this aft (which could have been even shorter), as always will have both tables on bbc snooker website on tonight!!!

                    • Its a hard match to call as to who is going to prevail against Ding/Bingham. Bingham is hitting the ball well and playing with the confidence to progress to the quarter finals, but I suspect the pressure he will be under tonight could prove too much, and even with a 2 frame deficit, I feel as if Ding will show his class to set up an intriguing encounter against Selby..
"Statistics won't tell you much about me. I play for love, not records."

There is no such thing as a short session when Rory Mcleod is playing, he can make best of 9 last longer than the final of the WC sometimes!!!

                          • Thank God for that!!! One of the worst matches I've seen in years!!! On memory was the Ebdon Dott final as bad as that?
