  • Yes well played Stuart but Ding played so poorly, should have been 6-2 ahead if not 7-1. Ding will play a lot better in the evening.

He got out of the session I agree, that's the main thing from Ding's point of view!

        • Just in case anyone isn't aware, if the last frame of a session in the morning hasnt started by 1:50, the final frame will be delayed until their next session like Barry Hawkins was a couple of years ago was it? Cant remember who he played, he lost the deciding frame though!

          • I know people have to play in a way that will benefit them but it's more comfortable to stick pins in your eyes, than watch McCleod.

As for Hendry last night, i got the impression he didn't want to be there.

            • think i'll be avoiding the higgins v mcleod match from now on, painful isn't the word! such negative play from mcleod yet the slow play seems to work against himself.

i bet in practice he's more fluent so why not play like you do in practice.

I actually doubt he is that fluent in practice, otherwise surely by now we'd see glimpses of that in his game.

He is typical of a player out of his depth yet has an uncanny way of playing out deliberate scrappy frames and slowing the game down to upset his opponent. Now if that is what snooker is then heaven help the future of the game. Hopefully this is the last we see of him on the TV because his style really doesn't have a place amongst the elites of the game.

                • He seems to have an agenda this tournament, he can breakbuild and play more fluently, perhaps he will be advised to play a fraction more positively, no coincidence that both his matches have been pulled off early! Not great for the tournament or the image of the game in the modern era, terrible for the punters on that side too!!

exactly my point below, nothing personal but I dont like his style, at least even ebdon is fluent in the balls, if he knocked breaks in I wouldnt mind if he was a bit slower either but he doesnt even do that!! The sooner higgins wins the better, totally agree with u!!

                    • Stephen Hendry looks resigned. He cannot compete at this level, over this length of match.

Could be the last time we see him.

I agree, but on the flip side Selby is playing as well as anyone has played against anyone this season. Absolutely awesome performance.

                          • Just when Murphy was getting back into the match, Ronnie misses a safety shot by a mile, and guess what, leaves nothing on. I bet he's going to fluke his way to victory now.

Murphy should have played safe...instead he tried a pot and lost the frame....simple as that. Flukes are part of the game and maybe you shoulnt give a verdict after one lucky shot from Ronnie.

If that's what you call fluking way to victory, then, I see it in every single snooker match. Luck element has always been a part of this sport and will always be..
And trust me, table always pays its debt at some point in the game..
