Higgins still had to capitalize on O'Sullivan's mistakes in the last 2 frames though. There was nothing lucky in the way Higgins held his nerve to win that 15th frame in the way he did, knowing fully well he wasnt playing at his best..

While I think it should be 9-7 ronnie on balance of play, you also have to give credit to higgins, snooker isn't all about having chances, its about stealing frames, or getting back into a frame when 50 odd down, then nicking it after a 10 minute safety battle and gradually fighting your way back in, that is the most intruiging part of the game for me, when a player is 50 up, can his opponent develop safe balls, make 20, win a safety battle, then clear up, I know you probably want Ronnie to win, but you must always give credit to his opponent for scrapping and hauling himself level when he looked very likely to be losing going into tonight's session

I'm not a big fan of that phrase myself. Unless there are kicks or flukes that decide frames, I think the balance of play is always accurately reflected in the scoreline.

But I agree with the sentiment of course. I think this first frame could be very important now. Whoever wins it has the chance to take control of the match.

                              • Don't like Ronnie's chances now... He's thrown a few frames away, and Higgins is getting more confident.

Side note: I've not seen Ronnie smile once this tournament. Sure, he's applying himself well but he doesn't appear like a man enjoying himself. He looks bored at all times.
