  • Great stuff, this is what snooker needs new exciting young talent and he seems to be a nice guy as well. Well done Trump and good luck in the final.

How does that matter? Form matters.

Hendry is the best player of all time, but that doesn't make anyone who beats him nowadays an automatic favourite for anything.

plus Judd can't pot eveything all the time, if he has a bad session he's in serious trouble against either of those 2, believe me, that's the LEAST likely of all the things that could happen, that Judd would win relatively comfortably against either Higgins/Williams!!
He's had a bad session already, and he still won.

Exactly, Higgins may think "not sure how I won, but I MUST take this chance, may not get here again" seen it SO many times!! No matter what I see from Judd, as fantastic as he is and a breath of fresh air, I'll believe he wins the cup, when he lifts it up, until then the winner from tonight will win it!

        • I think that bad session was the best thing to happen to Judd. Now he knows he can recover if it happens again. Dott was right to question Judd's B-game but he proved he's matured enough not to panic.

I also think Robertson's comments really motivated Judd to prove himself when things get tense.

Form DOES NOT matter, winning does, feeling confident and being in form do not mean u can produce under pressure often, u can play crap to get to the final, but play well at the right times to win it, like Higgins, hasnt played well, but done enough to be in position to win, form does not matter a jot, u have to respond to ur opponent, u could be in great form but if he knocks in the breaks or ties u up in tough safety all day it doesnt matter!

Because in his day, if u beat Hendry u very often had a realistic chance of winning, many lacked all the qualities needed to beat him at the Crucible, with the exception of Bingham, who lets be honest, was never gonna win the tournament in 2000!

Doesnt mean he can do it again, doing it against Ding, and a Higgins or Williams is a different thing!

            • Same story after every match...he cant do it. He beat Robertson, but Gould is to much for him. He beat Gould but Dott is playing a better tactical game and Judd will not cope with that. He beat Dott but Ding is the man of the moment, and his experience will prevail. Guess what, HE DID IT, he won match after match...he has one more to win and then everyone will stop questioning his ability to win the tournament.

              • Hope Williams wins, if he does it's likely to be the most entertaining world final I've ever seen.

Well if he can do it against ding he can do it against anybody IMO, i mean ding is not a journeyman is he. great win and maybe the coming of age of a truly great player, this boy could be the boy that beats a few of hendry's records..Only early daze i know but it's his time to shine and he ain't doing a bad job so far.. i bet barry hearn is has excited about judd as me...lol...

Truly exciting times ahead for snooker for me...

                  • People aren't genuinely rooting for Williams here. They just don't want John to win the 4th crown because then it would be UNDENIABLE that he's above Ronnie in the all time great list.

Trump was already provisionally above Ronnie prior to this match. Ronnie hasn't moved.

Dott and Trump have swapped places, however, they are now 10th and 9th respectively.

                            • Amazing stuff from Trump seemed like there were no pressure at him at all. And reaching back-to-back finals is rare especially if second one is world championship!

Nope. Trump was 11th before this match. It's trivial now anyway that he's 9th.
