Well, that would be ridiculous. He won those titles fair and square on the table.

John was punished for his indiscretions by what the relevent commitee found fair, paid the price and did the time. Now is the time to move forward and try and forgive. Though it will never be forgotten by himself as well as ourselves no one deserves to be harried, bullied or harrassed, when the debt has been paid.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion on here and that is what makes this forum so interesting and informative but some of the comments in this thread are just plain stupid. We don't know the full facts and never will but i don't understand how you can defend or even try to justify someone standing up at a crucial moment in world championship semi final and hurling abuse at arguably one of the greatest all round players in our game. He was not just saying what ''everyone'' is thinking! John is a regular visitor to my club and he is one of the nicest and most down to earth ambassadors the sport of snooker has EVER had and everyone to a man in our club was behind him then as we are today. If it is that easy to assassinate the character of the likes of John Higgins then god help us all.

He had no right to react. He got away with it. Anyone else outside the top 16 would have been kicked off the tour, deducted ranking points etc.

Higgins didn´t get away with anything. He got banned half a year plus had to pay a quite big fine as well. So it´s open to disagree in the length of his punishment, but he has been punished for sure. Most people in here only know what´s been written in a tabloid newspaper in this case.

I find it strange that there are people who still can't accept that Higgins was innocent.

I thought this "scandal" died when sportingintelligence analyzed the video.

If you still don't understand why he was cleared, they also have an interview with David Douglas which explains the decision of the investigators.

It was bound to happen in fact i have been waiting all season for it but not at WC pleassse.
Mark just lost it could not stop laughing and cost him the match.
Gave Higgins the boost he needed could almost see the steam coming out of his ears.
players like John Higgins dont get affected by things like that they get inspired when will these idiots ever learn that.

Players like Higgins don't get affected by things like that because they couldn't care less about the snooker fans. That's why it was easy for him to betray the game like he did. That's why he hasn't publicly apologized for what he did to the snooker world.

The irony of it all is that the same player who has always been presented as the family type doesn’t give a damn about his other family, the snooker family.

So he should've started crying and lose the frame for "his snooker family"? Hendry didn't give a damn a about the snooker family when the whole crowd booed him when he played against Jimmy? To be honest, I wouldn't give damn about that kind of family either.

                          What a load of crap.

He didn’t have to start crying and lose frames. Hell, fans wanted him to do anything BUT lose frames on purpose, for any reason.

Fans are the reason Higgins has a paycheck, and I for one think they didn’t deserve to be made fools by him that way.

                            Just my opinion.

He cares about money though by any means.
The way he says some fans will never forget this and i will have to live with this (like poor me) for the rest of my career, well yeah.
                              He has some stones.

some very interesting points on this thread and i must say i'm with the majority........what higgins 'TRIED' to do is a disgrace and has no respect for the game of snooker. the problem is, despite of what the notw has uncovered higgins is still a very good player and thats something you cant take away from him-hes just won the world champs and you cant cheat your way through that. would of been nice to see judd win rather than the cheat.
