Ah well thats it sorted then eh.

The man is menace and had that heckler just waited until the Williams had beat him and heckled him out of the crucible instead of during the match he would not have number 4.

Cannot get it that people defend Higgins at all! Are they just all Mad Mell Gibson fans or what!!

Goku seems over it glad for him/her.

Stand by my point had the heckler shut his gob Higgins would not have been in the final.

hey debs sorry you didnt like my comment about higgins being a good player but i suppose you can only appreciate that if you can look beyond the whole 'cheat' aspect. i dont like what he's done to nearly tarnish and bring a black cloud over this lovely game of snooker which i love so much but at the same time he is a good player. look at what he did against mark williams in the uk championship. wasnt happy about the result at all-but it is what it is

Yeah. If you think that was spooky... the Japanese [original] version was more twisted.

I was never a massive Higgins fan, but the inverse of the majority here, I felt great sympathy for Higgins the way he was treated and the "we know you're a cheater but we won't say anything" uncomfortable climate in which he has had to play. As far as I'm concerned he was cleared of any wrong doing and that's it. I cheered him on every ball of the way in the WC this year, and am delighted he won. The best way possible to hit out at the critics and the cynics and the sneers.

I think it's a shame that the video footage came before the event where Higgins was supposed to match fix.

Higgins was clearly up for it, and he obviously wanted to do it - either that or he deserves an oscar. Unfortinately as it all came out before the event, there was no proof of match fixing, as he wasn't paid.

When the heckler let rip Williams laughed, it really tickled him. I was glad to see the interval because i thought he would have time to compose himself but no he just could not stop giggling and lost focus, while Higgins was riled up and totally focused.
I thought Williams was going to win and imo had the heckler put him off more than Higgins.

Absolutely i was right there with you i had convinced myself the guy was innocent. A victim of a set up or conspiracy or something. I mean i watched him closely all season and he looked/played like a man who was wronged and was indignantly vindicating himself.
When he won i thought what a lucky man helping to heal his family with a victory like that.

And then i read in the paper that he was guilty afterall i mean what is this guy made off. He loves his family and thats all that matters to him but he has insulted something precious sorry to be dramatic but he has, and got off so lightly its not real. Ok he is not the only one to try but as far as i know the others were suitably punished which cleanses the sport to the world.

I was in the auditorium at the time of the incident and a couple of things surprised me.

Firstly, if you were a heckler wanting to make maximum impact on a well-publicised story, I would have thought that you would not go to the effort of obtaining a ticket for the session and then make the point at a relatively unimportant point in the match. I mean, obvioulsy it was a World semi-final and it doesn't get much more important than that, but it was at a point when Higgins had virtually already won the frame and he was mid-walk. Why not wait until a crunch moment in a frame which could go either way, and until Higgins was actually down on the shot.

The other thing that surprised me was the almost universal booing of the crowd towards the heckler. I am surprised that there wasn't even an ounce of discernible noise supporting the heckler, given that it is a subject that has divided the snooker fraternity's opinions so drastically. I know these are obviously snooker fans for buying a ticket, but this was not a room full of Higgins fans specifically, since the majority of tickets were sold before even the seedings were known, let alone the fact that Higgins would still be in the competition by then.

I heard him he sounded passionate and off the cuff to me anyway. Maybe it was the fact that Higgins was on the way to winning the frame and the guy thought to himself oh no not another UK and just lost it.

I for one was not at all surprised about the reaction of the crowd. This is Snookers most important tournament and the Crucible alone deserves respect.

No I'm sure the heckler was genuine - it just seemed surprising that having gone to all the effort of getting himself in a situation of maximum imact he fell slightly short with his timing.

I must add that I was glad the crowd reacted as it did - it showed absolute disapproval of the act despite your thoughts on the sentiment.

i just wish the notw would of waited and then married the losing frames up with the recording they had to prove higgins was really a 'cheat'. i wonder what barry hearn would of done with that evidence. think it would of been a ronnie vs judd final now that sounds like fire works WOW what i final that would of been
