The best bet is winning bet, not the one with cool odds. Or then...

Yep the only argument why Noel could be wrong is that they never make a clean sweep. Otherwise, already in China it was 14 out of 16, if I'm not wrong. With only Ronnie & Murphy out, not the 'lesser' seeds! And I don't remember exactly how it was with R1 in the Welsh, but QF line-up was very strong/seeds, and high seeds only or so, the latest tournaments show that seeds are favorites. So why would they (seeds) not take it even more seriously in the worlds. Including those 2 China fall-outs, hopefully... Or otherwise add Liang and Gerard Greene to your possibilities list.

I would say Stephen Lee. He has spent enough time without doing anything for notice, and now, Stephen Maguire would be a suitable player for him, as they both have attacking characters.
      All the way Mark J!!

There's 'qualifier to go furthest' bet.
If not for betting on it, this could be an indication what do bookies think about qualifiers chances.

          Cope, Jamie ........ 3.50
          Dott, Graeme ....... 5.00
          Doherty, Ken ........ 5.00
          Wenbo, Liang ...... 13.00
          Holt, Michael ........ 17.00
          Lee, Stephen ....... 21.00
          Hawkins, Barry ..... 21.00
          Ford, Tom ........... 26.00
          Gould, Martin ....... 29.00
          Davis, Mark ......... 29.00
          O'Brien, Fergal ..... 34.00
          Greene, Gerard .... 34.00
          Zhang, Anda ........ 34.00
          Davis, Steve ......... 51.00
          Pettman, Stuart .... 67.00
          Campbell, Marcus . 81.00

Thats interesting , i cant believe Steve Davis is 51 .00 .I would have said he was one of the few with the best chance . Well worth a punt especially if he gets a good start and gets his tail up early on .

Well those odds are not for winning R1, it's for qualifier to advance the most. So probably they assume even if S Davis where to win R1, he won't go forther; while if some Cope would win R1, he could make it to the QF or so. (Wonder how will they judge who wins the bet if 2 qualifiers make it to the same stage? or nobody wins the bet in that case ).

Michael Holt is the only one, I can see as a winner, but I would be very surprised if there wasn´t more nonseeded players going through. One or two big surprises and a few smaller.

I´m quite surprised to see Ken Doherty so high up. Even if he beats Selby, Hendry will be waiting in the next match, and then the winner of Williams-O´Sullivan (that is if they win their first round match).
