  • Which matches are you looking forward to ?

So with the World Championship approaching which matches of the following are you looking most forward to ?

    John Higgins v Barry Hawkins

    Mark King v Steve Davis

    Neil Robertson v Fergal O'Brien

    Marco Fu v Martin Gould

    Ali Carter v Jamie Cope

    Joe Perry v Michael Holt

    Ding Junhui v Stuart Pettman

    Shaun Murphy v Gerrard Greene

    Stephen Maguire v Stephen Lee

    Peter Ebdon v Graeme Dott

    Mark Allen v Tom Ford

    Ryan Day v Mark Davis

    Mark Selby v Ken Doherty

    Stephen Hendry v Anda Zhang

    Mark Williams v Marcus Campbell

    Ronnie O'Sullivan v Liang Wenbo

It looks like there could be a few interesting matches. The one I expect the most from is Carter - Cope. I wouldn´t be surprised if it ended as a final frame decision, and the standard could well be very high.

If Steve Davis finds a bit of form, then his match against Mark King could be a tense and close affair.

Ebdon - Dott will also be intense, as the looser is definitly out of top 16, so there probably be a lot of grinding going on.

The O´Sullivan - Wenbo match could be very entertaining if both players can find their best play. I have a feeling that O´Sullivan can get in serious trouble if he´s not on his marks.

    All of them really.
First round though I want to see the Hendry match most because I have never seen the other guy play and I am curious to see if he can make a match of it.:snooker:

Exactly this match doesn't seem tasty to me at all - that battle of 2 bottlers. Only Day vs M Davis could be worse - the battle of some of the most 'grey' players...

I hope there will be some fireworks Ebdon - Dott match, even more so as they could be playing for top 16 spot.
And who knows if Ken Doherty is back into form, Selby could be in danger and in need to pull out some tough comebacks.

I'm always interested in the unknown/unseen yet, that would be Anda Zhang's match.

And Ronnie, of course, to check what's the scenario besides just watching Ronnie; and to see what are Williams chances in R2.
It's a pitty Liang got this draw, I woudn't mind him staying in the tournament for a little longer.

Ronnie will probably smash Liang to the ground, so, his fans may find that match intriguing

But the match of the round for me is Doherty-Selby. Could go all the way in this one, in my opinion..
        All the way Mark J!!

I definitely know which match I'm not going to watch - Peter Ebdon v Graeme Dott.

I only really take notice of Selbys' and Allens' matches, but I will probably end up watching the whole lot of them. There are plenty of matches that will be worth watching and there are plenty of matches that you can't call. I will probably say the following...

            Carter v Cope

Everyone knows Cope is capable of snooker at the highest level, but he is also capable of playing like a right spoon. I think the game will be decided on which Cope turns up, if he turns up and plays well, he will win I think, whereas if he turns up and plays useless like he has been known too, he will lose.

            Selby v Doherty

Will definatley be tuning in here as most of you know that Selby is my favourite player and I have never been a fan of Kens'. If I was to give my honest opinion I would predict a victory for Selby by about 4 or 5 frames.

Those are the only 'key' matches for me as I don't think Allen will have much trouble against Tom Ford.

Anyways, I can't wait for it to start

Ebdon v Dott and Selby v Doherty could be interesting. I'm always looking forward to see MJW's matches. Hendry's match is also one to watch.

That is an interesting match too. I think Fergal will give Robbo a hard time, maybe push it to the full length.

                          You would though

I think O'Brian could just sneak it unfortunatley.

                              Selby v Doherty of course!
But more than likely I'll see a bit of all them at some point because I find snooker quite helpful to have on in the background whilst revising.
I might watch the Ebdon/ Dott match if I need help getting to sleep. Are they on an evening session?
