Theres a few good qualifiers this year I must admit, probably the strongest field of qualifiers?

Jamie Cope is a very solid player and I think he has a good future in the game along with Ryan Day and Mark Allen. Expect a surge up the rankings from him sooner rather than later, perhaps this could be his year?

Verdict - Could make latter stages.

Micheal Holt has never quite made it on the big stages and I expect him to go out early on in the tournament. He is a great guy though.

    Verdict -Another Round 1 exit

Steve Davis is a legend of the game and everyone knows what you will get from Steve, I can't see him winning the tournament or getting to the latter stages unfortunatley -

    Verdict - Last 16

Stephen Lee, not a bad player but sweats up like a blueberry. After his recent allegations of match fixing, I expect nothing from him.

    Verdict - Round 1 exit.

Greame Dott, has a rivetting first round game with Peter Ebdon, I am sure it will smash the BBC viewing record. Seriously, Peter needs the win to stay in Top 16 so a round 1 exit from the former champion.

    Verdict - First Round exit.

Ken Doherty, not sure if he has it in him to beat Selby over the longer format of best of 19 frames, good player but for obvious reasons I will be riooting for Selby. I'm going to predict a Round 1 exit for Ken

    Verdict - Round 1 exit

Zhang Anda, be interesting to see how he fairs in his first Crucible match, playing against Cruicble veteran Stephen Hendry in the first round could be a big ask. Expect experience to knockout Zhang.

    Verdict - Round 1 exit

Liang Wenbo, has a tricky task against Ronnie in round 1, I find this impossible to call as this is based on which Ronnie turns up rather than which Liang turns up, will go for Ronnie to beat him.

    Verdict - Round 1 exit

I won't go through all the other qualifiers as my fingers are aching as I have just woke up.

    Regards,

    Mr P.

I like watching Michael Holt and think he deserves a run in something sooner or later because he is a great player.
If he keeps his mood swings in check and just enjoys playing for once he could do well. Depends on him keeping focused and his head clear I think.

Cope would be lucky to get past the first round with his current skill level..

Doherty could be the one or maybe Steve Davis.. If Maguire plays like what he has showed throughout the season, Stephen Lee has a chance as well..

I barely see any of them winning to be honest, not because they are bad players but because the best qualifiers have largely drawn the best seeded players.

No, he led 12-10 before letting Higgins come back and take it to a decider and lost from there on..

Don't get me wrong, but Cope doesn't have the mental strength or match play to reach the latter stages, and his first round opponent is Carter, who limited the collapsing moments of his own to a very low number compared to his previous seasons.

Cope will not go out without a fight, but I don't expect him to be close enough to Carter to stand a winning chance..

Same feeling here... Levon could be the closest to the truth

Mark King seems to be a favorite in his match too, his form ain't too bad lately..

to Higgins in the welsh , the scoreline did,nt reflect how well Dott playe , And he looked like coming back to form .
