If Ebdon wins against Dott then Liang should finish 16th, while Ebdon will overtake both Liang and Cope.

If Dott wins then Cope will probably still finish 16th, unless Dott reaches the SF.

Perry could also change the situation if he gets to the QF. And there are a couple of players further behind, who could theoretically still get in with a run to the final.

So glad to hear Steve Davis talk about "rolling" rankings - great idea - much more interesting and exciting! But could have situation where top players are out of the final stages of second event!! But it will depend on starting points.No doubt Top 16 will still be well protected.

Could you elaborate more on those "rolling" rankings - how would that work?

I understand it to be, like we used do do in the Waistcoat, after each tournament ranking points are awarded according to result and a new ranking list is calculated.

Well really enjoyed this afternoon's session. You can't beat the atmosphere at the crucible! So glad Selbs got through, was a joy to watch! We stayed to watch Cope and Carter. Was quite good but felt really sorry for Cope. He just sat there with his head in his hands for most of it!
