  • Will Allen make the final?

I fancied Allen to go all the way before he kicked off yesterday. Now I really think he'l go all the way this year. Maybe winning is a long shot but making the final, what do you guys think?

Certainly looks a good bet to reach the semi, then he'll be against the survivor of the "quarter of death". So he could have an opponent who's already had 3 tough matches...

Second AndrewB, he's one of the best shots to reach at least semi.
Co-winner of Spike’s 2009 UK Championship number of centuries prediction contest.

      RIP Noel. RIP.

I don't think he can make the final, may make the latter stages though.

If he,s going to reach the latter stages then he,s going to have to tighten his game up , he gives too many chances away either from lapses in concentration when he,s in or missing difficult long shots .

I like his attacking game but sometimes he needs weigh up the options and be a bit more patient .

Has the confidence but don't know if he has the all round game yet. Wouldn't surprise me if he did though, seems to have something about him that he's destined for success soon.

I,d like to see him do well and really like his attacking play , but just think he,s got to start playing the percentages against the top players .

semi at least, with the crowd behind him he will go on to win. On another note where is the large guy with the curly black hair who always sits on the front row this year?

I saw him at the qualifiers, said he would be there this year but not for all the sessions, can't remember if he said he would be there for the first or second week.

If it´s O´Sullivan or Selby, I don´t think he´ll have the crowd behind him.

I saw him on the first day in the crowd, can't remember what match it was but he's definatley there. I spoke to him last year when I was up there, top guy.

I watched his game against ROS last year and had money on him to win. What an atmosphere and what a game.

Fantastic under pressure and a great potter. He has a chance in any tournament. Though I think he needs to temper his game with a tad better safety/shot selection on occasion to have any chance of wining here in Sheffield. Not one of my picks this year but love it if he did do it.
