  • Fan snoring at the Crucible!!

We've seen people falling asleep down the years, but a guy on the FRONT row of the Dott Ebdon match disrupted play as he was snoring. These people should stay at home if they're tired and let fans who want to watch the snooker go.

I hate seeing people sleeping in the crowd. Never made the journey to The Crucible myself so maybe I shouldn't complain, but it annoys me. Not great for the game's image either, is it? Disrespectful, especially sitting in the front row. No narcolepsy, no excuse.

I got a great pic of a guy reading a book in the crowd in Ebdons game at The Crucible last year.

To be fair, it was a decent match. There was lot's of good play, Graeme was not missing much and it probably should have finished 8-1, not 7-2. Ebdon was potting well too but Graeme had the better of the tactical exchanges. Here's hoping he finishes the job tonight.

Falling asleep in an Ebdon match? Surely not!

I thought it was funny. I don't think it is any co-incidence that it happened in that match either, that game is enough to make anyone fall asleep.

I fell asleep once at the Crucible too. It was many years ago and I was watching Steve Davis and Terry Griffiths I think.

The match was so mind numbingly dull, it is hard to put into words. I was in the balcony and a cleaner woke me up, I remember her waking me up in panic saying she thought I was dead. There was no-one left after I woke up. I never bothered asking who won and don't care to this day. Missed my bus home and had to walk home miles in the pouring rain. Def not one of my best memories of snooker:snooker:

Yes, I remember that. It was in the final of the 2005 Irish Masters. The noise just wouldn't stop, so they checked where it was coming from, and it turned out the guy was sleeping. The phones were going off every 10 minutes in that match, the worst I've ever seen. O'Sullivan and Stevens actually had to take a break in the middle of a frame after that incident, just to compose themselves.

If that's indeed what you were thinking of...

Hilarious story. You must be a sound sleeper as I can't imagine anyone sleeping through the hustle and bustle at the end of a session at the Crucible. Can you remember what year it was? I think Steve and the Griff had something like eight seperate battles at the World Championship with the Nugget winning every time.
