Mark Davis today made the last 16 of the World Snooker championships for the first time since 1995 by beating Ryan Day by 10 frames to 8, This is the longest time of a last 16 first appearence to the second apperance in the world champions at Sheffiled. In 1995 he beat Ken Doherty 10-7, before going out to Peter Ebon 13-7 in the last 16.
