I can only assume the time difference means you have missed the last session?
Hendry no longer has the ability to win a match like this. Damage limitation is all he can hope for now.

It was such a simple escape off one side cushion, in between the green and yellow.

Up until that point he was looking good, but now he's thrown it away. Maybe we'll get a retirement speech later...
Why should he retire ? He is still top 16. He is playing someone stronger and has to accept his best days are gone. Davis did accept this and is very aware of his limited game. But he enjoys playing again. Hendry how hard it is will have to accept this as well. Nothing to be ashamed of, it just called aging...
I saw that going differently in my mind

Has Hendry lost more matches in his career than he has won yet? He should retire soon.

Think that its time for Hendry to retire , he is not technically astute enough to keep playing and as far as I can see, he has no fight in him,
great player in his day but nowadays cannot mix it with the big boys.

From 2-4 down, it was a great performance from Selby. This quarter played out just as I thought it would, and my final prediction was that Selby would beat O'Sullivan in the QF. They've both played brilliantly in the 2nd round, but I think I will stick with that prediction.

:snooker:So Mark is through to the quarters and facing Ronnie, he's seems pretty up for it though judging by his post match interview. I think it'll be a classic!:snooker:

A truly impressive performance from Selby. Hendry should not be too hard on himself after today's defeat, Selby was pretty much rock solid throughout the match and would have been a handful for anyone.

After seeing how well both O'Sullivan and Selby have performed today, we should be in for a classic encounter, and as of yet i cant decide as to who is likely to win their quarter-final.

This match could have been so different if Frame 7 had gone to Hendry (when he led by 75 points and Selby needed two snookers). He was looking great until that point. Hendry could have taken the first session 6-2, and I think he would have won the match after that.

Im not so sure that 7th frame made the difference. Mark is today a far better player than Hendry. It happened last year when Hendry played very well against Murphy in the first session, leading 5-3 and lost the match (7-9, 11-13). Hendrys problem is that hes not capable to maintain a high standard throughout a multi session match.

Hendry just looks spent, he is cueing across the ball, has no fight in him at all,
he played rubbish and just gave up,
its such a shame to see such a great player fold , but tonight I really feel that he is finished ,he didnt and wouldnt dig deep
                          time to retire.....nowhere to go

Hendry has lost all self-belief. He still has the ability, but not winning a tournament in five years has destroyed his confidence. It seemed to me that Hendry just didn't believe he could beat Selby, which is ridiculous because - on form - he could.

He should not retire. He's still a top player. Last year he reached the Quarters and made a maximum, the year before he was a Semi finalist. I think he needs a good run (or, ideally, a win) in a smaller ranking tournament before he has the confidence to challenge again at the Crucible.

                            Don't count him out yet.

Hendry can win a smaller ranking tournament depending on the draw and opponents form, but winning at the Crucible is not going to happen anymore for him.
