Steve Davis vs Neil Robertson - Discussion

Steve Davis seems to have changed a few things in his game.
I noticed at the qualifiers he is staying down and still on the shot keeping his cue forward and his head as still as stone. (ala Sean Murphy) and he has altered his grip too.
I think he is playing better and think it will be closer than when they last met but I agree with wildjoneseye Robertson will have too much for him.

I dont mind who wins , used to hate Davis , but now like others have nothing but admiration , the guy is a living legend . I like Robbo aswell I just hope it,s a classic .

All credit to Steve Davis for his achievements so far in this tournament, but he has played 43 frames, with only about 10 of them being of the quality he will need to keep going in this tournament. I think Neil Robertson got out of jail and may inspire him to better things. The big difference will be consistency and scoring ability, with Davis never really looking in control when breakbuilding, as a viewer I am waiting for the poor positional shot or easy pot to be missed and i'm sure Steve would acknowledge this is a factor in his, Jimmy White, John Parrott and Stephen Hendrys game nowadays.

Against Martin safeties had to be brilliant against Davis Length will equal a good safety.and Robertson can compete Tactically with Davis.wooooooooo snookerrr

Davis got of out jail in the first round against King in the final frame when King was in amongst the balls and missed a simple pink and let him in.
And to be fair, Higgins has been awful this tournament. He was poor against Hawkins, and some of the pots he missed against Davis were quite shocking for the world number 1 and defending champ.
Davis has done well, but he should have been sent packing in round 1.
Theres no way Robertson will lose this match. It should be a comfortable win.

Robertson is of course the favourite to win, but I don't think he'll pot Steve off the table. It is not that simple. In a more relaxed atmosphere, I might have believed that, but this is Crucible and the pressure to perform at or near your best must be immense. It will be a tough battle.
