I am surprised that so many people here really thought Davis could do something more here. With all due respect, he just doesn't have what it takes to go past Robertson. His victory against Higgins was a one-off incident and he will never repeat anything similar again. He's missing chances that should never be missed on this level and plays a negative game that is not going to take him anywhere. He can win the scrappy frames, but his inability to score heavily will cost him...Still, he's one of the greatest ever!

I really did think that it would be the second session where he would win 6-2 or 7-1, but it was Davis who struggled even more than I expected him to. Robertson wasn't brilliant, but he was pretty good, and that's all it took to win the vast majority of frames. But his game is definitely looking better than it did against Gould, so I'm sure he will be going for the win tonight, to have a day off tomorrow.
