i'm smugly waiting for the tedious claims of underhanded tacics, gamesmanship and Ronnie not being bothered today.
they say you cant beat ronnie at his best but the fact is when anyone starts putting in a performance against him his standards drop and the same excuses get banded about.
he got beat, barcelona got beat. the best dont always win. even at their best.

I think Ronnie of a few seasons ago would certainly have played much better and probably would have won comfortably, however he has previous against Selby and that played a major factor IMO.Originally Posted by steedee View Post
Selby isn't playing well either, I think Dott and Robertson are the two to watch now. Both scoring well, both having the bottle to come back from big deficits to win tough matches so it will be interesting to see who handles the pressure now the big favourites are gone. In all honesty any of the 4 could win it but it would be good to have a new champion but I'd have to say I'd rather Robertson win it just to have an overseas winner for a change.Comment

Funny, Mark has now beaten 3 ex worldchampions and is going at the 4th one. Maybe in the final he'll meet Robbo then for a change
As to ROS I didn't like his conduct today at all. In the second session he startet a superfluos argument with the ref (touching ball). In the evening he was pulling a face behind Mark mimicing the bored opponent. Not to mention the premature conceding of the last two frames (25/26 behind with 18 on). So he sure deserved this loss.Ten reds and not a colour...Comment

Selby was allways my favourite for the title. but I'm afraid to say I won't be watching any more of this years WC. I wish the remaining players all the best. But I fear barry has a very big job on his hands when I look at the players left. I can see the final being very very boring and played at a low standard. Shoot me down later if I wrong
