Yes, by the way, overlooking my favourite player for the respect list is just shame of me!

Had any of these three avoided each other in terms of generation, they could well have reached the heights Hendry and Davis did, in my opinion..

      williams? hendry? jimmy white?
but i think we basically agree on the idea that Ronnie will not respect any player who doesn't fit in with the way he thinks snooker should be played

I think he finds Hendry a bit methodical and also those finals he prevented from Jimmy winning the title

He certainly respects Jimmy, but Jimmy's career is in a downfall, so, I didn't mention him.

As for Williams, look at my previous post

williams is such a good player to watch...he does so many good things on the snooker table without any fuss. he's so economical it's scary

That's why I like Ronnie and him the most. They seem to be playing the game so comfortably and up to such fluency that no other can ever or perhaps shouldn't try to reach

Selby, on the other hand, is a completely different type of player. His playing style is somewhat similar to Peter Ebdon, but unlike Ebdon, one of my favourites, I dislike Selby.. I think that's pretty much a contradiction of myself, right?

Or perhaps, I just can't stand a 26-year-older to play that negative at times

              indeed an oxymoron

you can't fault him for playing the way he does because obviously it works for him. or rather, he could go on to win 7 world titles and I still wouldn't pay a dime to watch him (unless he was playing Ronnie or Williams etc..)

I wonder how it will affect Ronnie now, knowing that should he win this match, he will have a very long match against Graham Dott to look forward to. I dont think he likes playing Dott and I fear we may see him loose interest alltogether in winning this match if things dont go well.

From what ive seen of him it seems to me Dott gets an unfair reputation as a really slow boring player, he doesnt take anywhere as long on the shot as someone like ebdon and hes made the most centurys out of anyone at this years worlds so far.

I must admit though i started getting into snooker just after his world final with ebdon so ive never seen it but i think this one match is where most of boring rep comes from

Well Murphy's match was overshadowed anyway
Carter's comeback must have been some good feat though.

A masterclass of break-building around the pink spot from O'Sullivan in the 1st frame.

Just what O'Sulivan needs to get his mind into it.

                        Lovely start for him.

                                Where's Selby's comeback?

Edit: ok, here we go, Ronnie is helping him a little
