I was looking forward to this World final for weeks, but now I'm struggling to find the energy to say anything at all...
But Neil Robertson and Graeme Dott deserve better than that. Robertson was more or less out of the tournament before the final session against Gould, but didn't give up, and showed tremendous heart to go through. After that, he has played the kind of snooker that won him four ranking titles and made him one of the favourites to win this title. He is a player who, once he has played good snooker at some point in the tournament, doesn't usually let his standard drop at the business end. He seems to have found his potting form, but more importantly, he has never been outplayed in the safety exchanges in this tournament. He has a great ability to get through long frames and matches without getting tired, and he also had a longer rest than his opponent, so he should probably start as a slight favourite.
But Dott is a very tough player to crack, and even a fighter like Selby couldn't do it. He has been the most impressive in terms of break-building this week, hardly ever failing to take an easy chance. His safety has also never been in doubt, even against a tactician like Selby. He knows exactly what it takes to win a World final. He has been incredibly relaxed these past two weeks, playing like he has nothing to lose, but he is bound to realize what he is on the verge of achieving here, so I'm sure he will start feeling the pressure now. But his comeback after all his health problems, mental and physical, proves what a great champion he is, and it will take something special to deny him this title. As should be the case with every player who reaches this final.
It's a funny thing, we talk about how this tournament has the perfect format for the best players to come through, but at the same time, it produces some remarkable stories. Last year's final was the only one in the last seven years not to feature either a qualifier, or at least a player who had never won a ranking event before. Although admittedly, these players do seem to justify it with their results in the following season or two.
Anyway, enough talk. After 15 days of great snooker, I'm determined to enjoy this final, even if it's the last snooker-related thing I ever do.

The players that Greame Dott eliminated in this WC is astonishing. Ebdon, Maguire, Allen and Selby. All of them were in a way serious title contenders. Compared to that, Neil got into this final beating only one more serious opponent (Ali Carter). So i have to fancy Greame Dott in this one. C'mon Greame!
