My bet, based on the first round performance, is that it'll be Robertson v Ding final.

Yes, Robertson definitely looks up for it. He doesn't often start with a series of big breaks in his 1st round match, it usually takes him a bit to warm up. He must have really prepared for this event.

Peter Ebdon what a battler, he just grinded Ding into submission, over 5 hours for a best of 9, now that takes stamina and concentration.

what about frame 8 needing 3 snookers, most players would have conceeded, he got the three snookers for a respotted black. and if it wasn't for dings great cueing he would have won there and then.

but he did it the next frame. he plays Murphy next, i bet he isn't looking forward to that. i think i need a dark cup of coffee after watching that i'm exausted.

Ding's out, Robertson's out. So much for my prediction... You never know what's going to happen in early season tournaments.

Yeah, very surprising. I thought Ding handled that long frame (5th, was it?) quite well, and actually looked more patient than Ebdon at times. But Ebdon showed what a master of this type of snooker he is, coming through in the end. Two wins in a row against Ding now...

I couldn't see Robertson's match unfortunately, but I find the result very surprising, particularly after the way he played against Bond.

That leaves Murphy as the biggest name in the tournament now. The four players in the bottom half are all former tournament winners, although not necessarily current top players, while the four players from the top half haven't won anything significant between them.

Ebdon's break in the decider was great. He was in trouble quite a few times during it but somehow managed to take it to snookers-required situation.
