Great stuff from Hawkins, it would have taken a really top performance to beat him today. He played like a serial winner, took his chances and did everything right tactically.
I'm really pleased for him, because there was a danger he could have ended up without a ranking title to his name, along with players like Mark King, Joe Perry or Anthony Hamilton. But he was at the right place at the right time this week. It will be interesting to see what kind of season he now has. Bingham struggled for a long time after his win last year...
Also, what a classic post match interview... "What an idiot"

Had a feeling Barry had it from the beginning in the semi finals.
Excellent play, Congratulations Barry!

Well done to Barry Hawkins, superbly played all the way through the tournament, hope this leads to many more.
Well done to Peter Ebdon also, a marvelous tournament for him as well. And what a fabulous big break (sorry cannot remember which frame or score), still has a major in him to come.

Hawkins basically says (when asked about his family): "What an idiot, can't believe I'm starting to break up on telly, what an idiot!"

Did anyone notice the pockets on the tables down-under were true to template, a lot of balls jawing, players unable to force a ball along the rail. I guess most would like to believe the tables for the WSCand other world ranking tournaments to be strictly to template however, they are not. If so, this would surely bring many players undone, that said, there is one player I believe would go about business as usual and that player of course is the Rocket .... O'S.
