Nice to see Stevens in a semi-final again (must be some time since he last reached an SF) and Trump out the way before he gets too far.

Last year's World Championship. But yeah, can't remember the last time prior to that.

What a wonderful start from John Higgins. He knocks a long red in, holds for the black, and clears up with a 141. That's the way to put pressure on your opponent straight away.

Was a real shame ITV4 coverage cut out half way through the break ! More gremlins I'm afraid. Great to see John playing so well.

Higgins playing extremely well. Could be getting it right at the perfect time of the season.

Very impressive stuff from Higgins so far. He is scoring heavily, and it's quite demoralizing for Ding to see him getting scoring visits with doubles and long pots like that.

I think this is the best Higgins has looked since Shanghai.

Audiences - yesterday Clive Everton said that from the camare angles you cannot see the huge audience that is above the "front expensive" sections. He also said that the Chinese like sitting further away from the players area so they can have a conversation without disturbing the players.
Anyone notice any wide area camera shots?
                  Up the TSF! :snooker:

Four very strong frames, Ding hardly had a shot. I think he only scored 14 points, while Higgins must have scored close to 400.

Amazing, after all those strong frames, Higgins finally messes up a safety, but the white goes in and out of baulk and rests dead weight on a red, snookering Ding on everything.

Still, Ding in with a chance now. Can he avoid the whitewash?

Higgins completes the whitewash after a missed black from Ding. It's going to be tough to beat him now. Once he establishes himself as the favourite by the SF stage, he rarely lets it slip. Although Neil Robertson does have a decent record against him.

It must be disappointing for the Chinese viewers to only get two hours of snooker in the evening session. But it was worth it at least for Higgins' performance. Nice win for Allen as well. He's beaten Higgins a couple of times before, so it should be a good match.

Holly smoke! Just came back from my lunch break, hoping to catch a bit of action from the Ding vs Higgins game........just to see John just slaughtered the poor lad on the table! gutted to have miss it!! Looking at the scoreboard, he scored really heavily. Back to back tons plus 3 50+ breaks...amazing!
John looks to be coming back to top form just about perfect time of the year! )

Sad for Ding though, so tough to get whitewashed in front of his home crowd :/

Which match was Clive commentating on? Trump/Bond match from yesterday shows most of the seating empty all the way back. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9v-FRAZqU9w#t=2m14s). By 'further away' I take it he meant sitting behind the walls that's directly behind the stands, watching on their tv at home?? And just to show that there wasn't a huge influx of latecomers to the match, here is the audience a few seconds after frame ball was potter (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYblJrZ6V1Q#t=43m10s)

Absolutely **** poor attendance which flies in the face of all that Lord Heard says about snookers popularity in China. They have the players coming through but surely it is the fans that pump money into the game? PTCs aside, I don't think I have ever seen such a poorly attended tournament
