It was an easy enough escape but a certainty to leave the red over the corner pocket.

EXACTLY what the Miss rule is for.

i disagree the yellow was in the way he was too close to the pink to miss the yellow and hit that cushion

do we call a miss if the white is completely surrounded by colours now?

The point is that wasn't the easiest escape - much easier to come off 3 cushions in to the group of spread reds over the bottom left corner pocket. Easy enough to hit one but a virtual certainty to leave one, hence the miss being called as he was attempting a much more difficult escape.

lets just agree to disagree neither of us saw how close he was to the pink or how close he was to the cushion

It was easy to hit a red, Judd chose a much harder escape to avoid the chance of leaving something on whether he hit the red he was attempting to hit or not, hence the miss.

              Nothing to disagree about.

I hope Brecel can win his matches today, he is a symbol for international snooker I think. I hope, maybe one a Dutch wins a ranking title...

If the ball on is impossible to hit, then a F&M will *NOT* be called provided the player has played either directly or indirectly at a ball on with sufficient strength to have hit it had the obstructing ball(s) not been there.

I may be being a bit pedantic here, but Luca put his cue on the table after he potted the final pink and the cueball hit it, isn't that a foul? I don't think the ref called it.

i would understand it not being called on the final black of a 147 but it wasnt

Yes it is a foul, and it should have been called.

Yes, I've seen it too, it was a foul, but it wasn't really important anymore. It's sad that Luca lost his match, I'm watching Robertson now.

No, not that I recall anyway.

Yes, his last shot was very careless I thought, considering the circumstance. He's clearly talented, I do wonder about his temperament though. (I know, bit harsh, he's very young, but...)
