does anyone agree that this overplaying of Steve Davis matches (if he plays he takes priority over everyone else) state of affairs is getting boring and does nothing for his great legacy i want to remember steve as a winner not losing to Aditya Mehta, Pankaj Advani etc

The thing is, I think a lot of more casual fans if they tuned in and saw Steve Davis would stay tuned in. They might not if it was a player they'd never heard of, however good.

Television companies care more about rating then anything else.

As long as Steve enjoys playing, I'll enjoy watching him play. His genius is still obvious and for me still usually very entertaining, even when he looses. I do see what you mean though, but I'm happy with the bias.
