Congratulations to Ding Junhui! He was in fantastic form. There was no stopping him. Mark Allen played brilliant too.

Best match of the tournament so far.

The guy made three centuries in each of his last two best-of-7 matches. Very high scoring, but at the same time he's had to play three deciders.

Ding Junhui belongs in the company of Stephen Hendry and Ronnie O'Sullivan as the Kings of break-building. Phenomenal.

That's got to be the heaviest scoring in a tournament we've seen this year!
Favourite players: Kirk Stevens, Stephen Hendry, John Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Ding Junhui

Couldn't agree more, the stats don't lie!! 25 years old, nearing 300 career century breaks already. #7 on the all time list, but surely #4 by this time next year. 5 maximums to his name (managing 2 in 3 days a year or so ago), only 2 behind Higgins who most consider the best break builder behind Hendry/O Sullivan.

The bar that Hendry & O Sullivan have set with regards to maximum breaks has always seemed an unrealistic target for any current player to beat, given that only Higgins is anywhere near it, but Ding should definitely be considered for it. Just wish he could hit his peak more often, as if it wasn't for his inconsistency, I'm sure we would be seeing a few records broken earlier than any of us would have ever expected

My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
              I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)

Not often you see Ding smile, but that clearance was excellent!

True was nice to see, can't wait for the World, actually i don't remember ever being as excited as this years championship, so many players look in top form at the minute though being pessimistic that can change quickly but i hope not

he is so annoying ... I mean its Tom ford he beat who can't pot a ball and that too scratched around to win 4-3 and growled as if he has won the world championship. I hope Ding/Maflin stuff him as I am sick o his antics. Nothing wrong with a bit of emotion but it has to proportionate. If only Tom Ford had half a ball, he could have won long ago.

He certainly had his chances. There is no excuse for missing a sitter like that in a decider. I thought we would see a lot of nervy stuff this week, with so many lower-ranked players involved, but the standard has been alright. Maflin and Woollaston in particular both played very well towards the end yesterday, hardly a poor shot between them.

Robertson on the other hand has been making mistakes, but his experience has got him through to the final. He has a psychological edge over Ding, so I'm sure he will fancy his chances.

But first, the repeat of a 1st round match from the 2011 China Open. I remember Maflin led 4-1 in that one, but lost 5-4 after a foul from the split, when he was in the balls to win.

I believe Maflin will win it all the way through ... he certainly has the potting ability to do so ... not sure about the mental side though ... still do not rule him out at all ... if Robertson played like he did against Ford, Maflin will beat him 4-0 but overcoming Ding is hard when he is on song.

Tom did well to recover from a shaky start, but there were still too many mistakes, good effort though. Not a particularly impressive performance by Neil either, certainly nothing to shout a bout.
