The final should be a great match. I think Ding will win, he's in top form. Ding and Robbo are two of my favorite players at the moment. That is, until Ronnie comes back.

Very understandable reaction, it was brutal stuff wasn't it. :beaten: Although Maflin did get a chance in every frame.

Thank heavens for beer ay. :very_drunk:

I'm expecting a really good match. But Robertson will have to play a lot better than he did against Ford if he's to beat Ding in his present form.

I'd like to see Ding win, geting a bit tired of Robertson's OTTness atm. :grumpy:

Have to say a big well done to Eurosport, Dafabet and the organisers at Galway. The crowds mid week weren't brilliant, but that is by far the most enthusiastic opening for one of the 'lesser' tournaments I've ever seen. Ding 147'ing, the return of the Aussie roar and a packed house, brilliant!!

I feel very optimistic for snooker's future right now.

Why does the commentor always refer to this tourney as a "Ranking event"? It is and remains a minor-ranking event! Who could consider a best-of-7 final a final of a Ranking tournament?

Points and prize money say it's a full ranking event. Just happens to be a shorter format, that's all.

                  Robertson up 3 - 0

                  Looking good now.

                  : )
My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
                  I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)

                    Wow, 3-0 for Robbo!

                    Come on Ding!

I think it wasnĀ“t considered a full ranking tournament last year or am I mistaken? Anyway things are looking tough for Ding now.

I was quite surprised that Robertson took that one on. Ding probably will get one back now.

Yeah, that kind of annoys me as well. This "ranking event" business has become quite a mess since the introduction of the PTCs, but I think it makes sense to split them into two categories, like most people do. But I don't see how the PTC final is on the same level as the major ranking events, since it carries significantly less points and has the exact same format as the PTC events.

Anyway, good final so far.

-what a clearance from Ding. He was in trouble several time, but just potted his way out of the problems.

Fantastic match so far. I'm loving it! Ding and Robbo are in top form. High quality snooker this.

But world snooker characterises it as a ranking tournament, so I donĀ“t know if the status has been changed.
