  • Well played Ding !! Great match and a great week of snooker !!

    Enjoyed it all !!

    : )

    I can't wait for Bendigo !!
My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
    I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)

    • Congratulations to Ding Junhui! Both players played absolutely fantastic but Ding was the best player in this tournament. Top class!

      • Superb finish from Ding, not the first time he won the decider with a big break this week.

Yes, he doesn't seem to have his usual killer instinct this season. He's lost three finals in a row now, the Masters in particular must have been frustrating, considering how well he had played that week. He also lost against Selby in the UK Championship from 4-0 up, which was the first time he threw away an advantage like that in a big match, at least to my knowledge. He also bottled the decider against Bingham at the Welsh Open.

But to be fair, he didn't do that much wrong in the last four frames tonight. He was missing from distance, and he lost position that time on 40. It was a great performance from Ding to turn it around.

        • Nice to see Ding show a bit of emotion at the end. The strong man pose and the fist on heart.

There's not a lot you can do when your opponent is playing no miss snooker.

No you´re right there, and Ding didn´t do much wrong to be 3 - 0 down either. I guess 8 halfcenturies in the first 5 frames tells it all.

He also lost the International Championship final from 8-6 up and three semi-finals in the German Masters, World Open and Premier League (from 4-1 up). Must be frustrating for Neil. Could easily have won three or four major titles this year and has ended up with nothing.

That said, he didn't lose this match, Ding won it. Fair play to him, only missed one pot in the entire match.

True but Robbo did have a chance (only one) in the final frame with a long red. 100% long pots from Ding shows his true class.

I really enjoyed the battle of the snookers in the 6th frame after Ding snookered himself on the yellow. Exciting stuff indeed.

And Robbo is normally very good with them. I guess he was feeling the pressure.

Yes. It was great. Both players got lucky but Ding got the gold watch when the white went tight behind the green. I bet Robbo couldn't believe it.

Exactly, it was great to see him come out fighting from 3 - 0 down, 1 ball missed, incredible. More of the same please Ding.

Overall I thought it was a cracking tournament with some superb quality matches, and the crowd really played their part as well, hats off to the good folk of Galway.

And another event ticked off bringing us closer to the big one....
