a world championship Quarter Final with a 5 minute 12 Break is talked about More than Some World Finals.
Exactly how is that Bad for Snooker ?
i Enjoyed that Match showing a player self destruct and yes Self Destruct it had nothing to do with Ebdon....Ronnie could have Potted Balls and kept ebdon in his seat but it showed a weakness on his Part and 8 years Later its still Talked about.

@ arbitrage,
It's not cheating. Snooker is a very what's in between the ears game, we have all agreed on that fact and it's the same at all levels of snooker. That's why the start of a match is important, both players want to win that first frame badly because it gives them a chance to bully the other player inside his head if he wins the next.
As another poster stated, if Ebbo did that against a Hendry in his prime he would have got slaughtered because Hendry would of just laughed and said in his own head when you give me a chance mate your history, Ronnie missed a great chance's to make him look a right fool and that must be one of his big regrets. I have played a player that mumbles nasty sentences to him self knowing I can hear him, you just have to let them get on with it and shuv it more up them when you get a chance, that's called composure.Last edited by throtts; 24 August 2012, 01:53 PM.JP Majestic

2. Deliberate slow play (assuming for a sec that this is what Ebdon was doing) should have no effect on his opponent, as stated numerous times, just about any other player than Ronnie (then or now) would have coped with it and beaten Ebdon from that position - assuming Ebdon's actual snooker wasn't the real reason Ronnie lost that match in the first place.
Therefore, there is no need for any additional rule to protect anyone against what occurred, and there is certainly no reason to add a shot clock (which is only 1 possible way to prevent delays in any case, and by far the worst).Last edited by nrage; 24 August 2012, 02:59 PM."Do unto others 20% better than you would expect them to do unto you, to correct for subjective error"

in this match, 14 secs AST for ronnie and 16 secs AST for MJW - ding is closer to 18-20 for most matches. in any case this is a moot point since the issue is about deliberate slow play, not a subjective opinion of whether ding is fast or normal.
on that subject, ding (after s. maguire in the 2012 china open final) is the latest victim of ebbo's cheating slow play. so much for the 'only ronnie can't cope with it mentally' argument. fact is, most players will be affected by people deliberately slowing down play - in any sport and that is why there are rules in place in all major sports to prevent it.
