Maybe if there was another player in the game half as entertaining to watch as O'Sullivan then it wouldn't just be him who had such 'vociferous' fans? Lay the blame at the rest of the game for that, not him.
so Ding, Mark Allen, and Jud are NOT class players then?
Ding is, but no way are Trump and Allen. Ding and White are the only class players to never have won it, and in the case of Ding it's only a matter of time.

Selby is class and has never won it. It's not only a matter of time for Ding, it was "only a matter of time" for White in the 80s and 90s and it never happened and let's face it, it's a different level now from then. I think Selby is more likely than Ding.
As for the "fans" Ronnie, Higgins and White attract clueless idiots to snooker and the bigger the arena, in % terms the greater number of idiots. The crowd at the Ronnie/Ding final was the worst I have ever seen.
Some of them seem to think they're still at the pub.
I was sitting among a group of them who had all arrived together, and I can assure you they were two sheets to the wind before frame 1, with the remaining sheets blowing away over the next three frames. Every now and then you just pray for someone like that to go too far and get thrown out...

Maybe Higgins, White and O'Sullivan did/do attract the most idiots because they attract the most people full stop? There's a reason for that, they're the only players with the games/personalities to really get anyone other than the hardcore fan excited. That no successor to O'Sullivan has come along like the successor to Higgins and then White did, is a rather worrying fact that gets overlooked. We thought it was Judd Trump until we realised he was a one trick pony, some people even thought it was Jamie Cope until they realised he was crap. Once O'Sullivan packs it in I can see interest in snooker plummeting. Again, blame the rest of the field and the game itself for this, not O'Sullivan.
Also for the record, the Ronnie/Ding final was blighted by one idiot which a weak referee failed to deal with, rather than the crowd itself.
Nope. How many Reardon/Davis/Hendry fans turned up blotto and shouted abuse? Some Davis ones early doors arguably but they got bombed out. Quite simply, flawed sportsmen, pop groups, whatever, attract flawed fans in a way that clean cut hard working pros do not.
