But either way, I'm really hoping Maguire will be in the Final instead of ROS. First because Stephen deserves it after his performance last night against Neil. He was so composed and in control of himself, played such awesome safety play and a couple of beautiful snookers. No banging his fist on the table neither I think it is trully deserving of advancing to the Final on sunday.
Secondly...yes ROS is definately a genius on the table but for one like myself who just loves the game of snooker and most of all the competition on the table (instead of foaming at the mouth over a particular player), it would be a much better Final with two rather evenly matched players so that we can at least *have* a Final instead of an exhibition
So...here's hoping for a Selby-Maguire of Murphy-Maguire Final :snooker:

Well, Selby-O'Sullivan finals don't really have a history of being "exhibitions", do they?
In fact, all three major finals between them have been absolute classics, as was their quarter-final at the WC in 2010. I wouldn't mind one bit if these two met in the final.
I think O'Sullivan-Murphy is the most suspect pairing, but if they reach the final they will have deserved it, and you never know how it's going to go on the day.

I feel that if the ROS from the match against Walden turns up, Murphy could be the one most at risk of being buried alive quickly. That's not to say I don't have the utmost respect for Murphy's or any doubt in his ability. He is one of my favorite players to watch. But ROS being himself could do some real damage very fast, and that could spoil a potentially fine Final...which is all I'm looking for really

i think your all writing murphy and maguire, how they have been playing they would walk over selby, so far he is the only one that has scraped through and yes i mean scraped has some unbelievable luck against higgins....having said that if o'sullivan plays like yesterday no one will get near him.

The Masters 2014
I wouldn't rule out Murphy at all... the ginger smurf will be no push over! Also I have to laugh Ronnie and Selby matches are rarely dull... but we all have our own tastes...Don't let the fear of losing be greater than the excitement of winning...

The Masters 2014
There hasnt been much talk here about Murphy who for me is the most dangerous player in the tournament. Wait....hear me out I am basing this on my beliefs about the remaining players ability to control their temperament and emotions.
In a world of Rockets, Whirlwhinds, and Jesters, Murphy is the 'Metronome'. He is the young boy at school in perfect uniform always paying attention in class and always hands in homework on time, whilst Ronnie is asleep in the back of the class, Selby is flicking Pritt-Stick around and casting glances at the young girls. Maguire, well Maguire is drawing cocks in the text books only pausing to headbutt the table.
Any of these can win this tournament. Three of these are capable of knocking themselves out contention.

The one player I would really LOVE to pick up the trophy is Shaun...it's been far too long for him really, and he is the absolute gentleman, which I want to see in a snookerplayer.
Second on that short list to win The Masters is Maguire. He deserves it, as he has changed himself quite a bit over the past years...much more in control of himself and working really hard at it.

A lot of players still despise Murphy for that, Maguire especially.
To continue the schoolboy analogy, Murphy is like a prefect, constantly sucking up to teachers and grassing everyone else up. He's a good player but not someone who it's easy to have a lot of respect for.

I remember a interview recently where Maguire has said they have put that incident behind them.

But I don't think I'm going to convince you otherwise. I think we're going to have to agree to disagree.
Personally. I like both players with a slight nod to Murphy. But there is not much in it.
