  • Watch this....final over at 9:01.

Bet this program will finish before 9:15.

Pisses me off EVERY time. They need to milk it, review it in the studio etc. Like they do in every other sport.

Program finished 10 minutes after the final ball was potted.

        • So Ronnie comes out on top in this Final. Well done to him, he has played exceptionally this whole week. Well done to Mark as well for hanging in there, as we've come to expect from him. I still enjoyed the Final regardless of it not being a closer contest. Brilliant week as well, many highly enjoyable matches with many comebacks and close finishes.

It's been fun...see you all in about 10 days in Germany

          • Far to good when he's on it, i can't see anyone stopping him in April/May either, equalling the great Steve Davis' record is a huge incentive. Well done to the greatest snooker player of all time.
After 15 reds and 15 blacks i did this http://youtu.be/DupuczMS2o4

            • Well, I don't like Ronnie, but that was amazing stuff really. Can't say he was perfect in the final, but Mark hasn't really turned up, what is a shame , because it could have been a classic. Can't say the tournament lacked drama, but pity it all came at the start
Mark's game lacked consistency, which was a difference between winning Masters and UK again and finishing runner up in both

              • Nobody came close to Ronnie. He beat Selby without breaking a sweat. He's just too good. Not bad for a 38 year old. And the Selby fans didnt even see it coming

                • Well that's it. I think few can argue the final was an anti-climax. Shame really, after such a brilliant tournament.

                  Roll on the next.

Speaking of which, what will that be in terms of a televised tournament?

                  • I do wish they wouldn't keep saying he's playing the best snooker of his life, I know they have to big up the tourney and some rivalries, to keep people interested, but that isn't O Sullivan's best by a long stretch, he played much better when taking on Hendry and Higgins in their heyday, they keep trotting out his safety is better, it has to be as he doesn't long pot or clear up like he used to , he didn't need a safety game when in his pomp ,even though I think it was underrated at the time, you can't take those two players on without a decent safety game.

                      • A pretty good snooker week. Quite a few exciting matches and strong performances in the week, but the weekend was a bit of a disappointment in the end.

Selby wasn't really good enough today to put up any challenge, and I think O'Sullivan's level probably dropped a bit as a result as well. Still, O'Sullivan played a couple of great frames early on to take control of the match, and he never really looked like losing since. A 10pm finish is a bit early for me, but of course that's always the danger when O'Sullivan is playing.

We've had a couple of great performances from players this season... Ding Junhui won three ranking titles in a row and was clearly the man to beat for a while, then Robertson won his third major title of 2013 and established himself as a clear number one in the rankings, and now O'Sullivan has responded to the challenge again, which makes the build-up to the World Championship very exciting. This is the first time since 2009 that O'Sullivan holds two of the three biggest titles in the game, so late 30s is officially one of the strongest periods of his career. Not something I would have expected a few years ago.

I can't remember him ever being described as in the 'best form of his life' only in very impressive form, and that he was. For the record I'd say O'Sullivan is a better player today than he was in his younger years, his safety is possibly the best in the game, his break building is as good as ever, tactically superb and most importantly he's been 100x better mentally the last 2/3 years than he's ever been before. His long game is a weakness, but when now and again it's still very good, which it was this week.

I thought the final was superb, and wonderful to see Ronnie coming good again - even his long game has mostly clicked into place this week.

I wouldn't describe the tournament as brilliant though - far too few consistent players(strange week when Ronnie is Mr Consistency) and far, far too many unforced errors and silly misses from the likes of Ding, Robertson et al.

I'm also sick to death of having the trailer for the World Championship played after every frame - if the tickets are as sold out as Barry claims, what's the point of advertising them?

I'm also not really convinced by his claims that the young players coming through are ready and going to be sensational - there are some good young players out there, but Trump and White are still the only real prospects for world-level at the moment, so far as I can see.

Still, it's been a good tournament, I've finally been in the arena when Ronnie won the Masters(previous finals being 2010 in the arena and 2007 not in the arena) and he's edged closer to another of Hendry's records.

                            Roll on the Welsh!

Only because it is the next tournament that main BBC will be showing.

I'm sure that BBC Wales will be showing it so why don't they advertise that as well?
