      MJW is out

with higgins and him the 92 generation is already finished. both of them are in big decline

only ronnie can survive nowadays if he comes back

Both of them playing crap at the moment, certainly. But calling Higgins "finished" is a bit harsh. He does currently hold a ranking title after all.

Higgins have had several periods where his game hasn´t been working during the years. In 2006 and start 2007 he was regularly ruled out in here. And we only have to go back to november to find one of his best matches ever (9-8 against Trump). And Williams has been close to falling out of top 32 some years ago. It looks like Williams lost his selfbelief after that Selby final in 2011.

          • Higgins finished??? Most consistent ranking in all top 16. I would maybe rethink that one.

I don't think Dale was that slow today. Ok, I wasn't sitting in Trump's chair but hey, don't think it was really a scandal.
not paranoid. if you are facing players who deliberately play slowly against you day in day out, it becomes a major grind and source of frustration. it was the case with ronnie and now with judd. don't think dominic was particularly slow but i'd be interested to know who he is referring to by "some players"

                • It's the complete other way around...some players are just too fast. 99% of snooker players have a certain (slower) speed. Players like ROS and Judd are the extreme exceptions. They cannot expect all other players to conform to their style. It's very simple like this.

If Dale wasn't slow why did Trump bring the issue up? No reason to be frustrated, just idle moaning about something that didn't happen. It seems a little paranoid to me or mind games from his part. This, for sure, is paranoid: "...facing players who deliberately play slowly against you day in day out..."

                    • Trump always seems to have something to say these days. Perhaps he would be better off devoting the excess energy to improving his play rather than whining about the conditions and money. The game doesn't revolve around him.

                      • Advani doing well against Dott, he's gone 2 - 0 up with a 63 and a 73.

                        • Advani goes through 4 - 1 finishing the match with a century. Trump or Higginson next.

Trump won't like playing him .......he looks at his next shot carefully . Probably accuse him of slow play

nobody is saying that all snooker players have to be as fast as ronnie or judd. however, there has to be a reasonable amount of time e.g. 25 - 30 secs in which the shot has to be played to ensure that players don't play slowly deliberately to affect their opponents. with the proliferation of players who use this tactic to affect opponents and of course the current world #1 being the flag bearer for this tactic and having elevated it to new levels beyond peter ebdon, there is an urgent need for regulation

if you look at how certain players have used this tactic against ronnie over his ~20 years on the pro circuit, judd is not being paranoid at all - he is 100% correct - why should he be disadvantaged because he is a quick thinker, technically superior, more familiar with what shots to take and more effective in shot execution?

p.s. this is a reference post for idiots using circular logic arguments about how you have to deal with other players being (deliberately) slow and that it is a sign of mental weakness if you can't cope with that - almost all major competitions / sports require you complete a certain set of actions within a set time limit - in the interest of fairness and often as a sign of proficiency, effectiveness, skill level etc. go to an open exam, go to a spelling bee, go to a basketball match, go to a baseball match, go to a chess tournament, go to a tennis match etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc. and argue against time based rules and see how far you get. this is a reference post because i don't want to have to repetitively respond to idiots in the future using this lame argument so if you do, all you will get is a link to this post
