"It's nice to see someone from overseas do well and hopefully it will help us get some tournaments in India," said world number two Trump. "I hope he bottles it under pressure tomorrow but I don't think he will."
Trump better rely on Advani bottling as his game still doesn't look very convincing. He's had a dream draw for the form he's on atm, opponents feeding him off or bottling it. No way he'd still be in the tournament had he played someone like Robertson or Ding...
Good to see McManus through, seems weird watching him years later since i last seen him on TV and he still has that thing where he lifts the head from the cue before striking the white. Has he ever said why he does this? I remember years back the commentators would always mention it, but i can't recall anyone asking him in interviews about it.
Hmmm.. The theory being, they never had any coaching as youngsters and never got important habits engrained from young..It's something you have to stop before it starts, head movement on the shot is something you will never get out of your game if not engrained from young to keep head still, hence why fu does it, mcmanus etc no matter how much coaching they have....
they can't get rid no matter how much they try now..
Steve davis dad used to hold something over his head to stop him moving when he was young (apparently, so my dad told me when i was a kid)
My old man used to tell me from young to keep head still and continuously pointed it out if i moved my head..and enforced this over the years as a youngster and now i keep still quite well on the shot and probs one of the strong points i have now, but poor in most other areas ..
Good to see alan having a couple of results lately, maybe the drago going nuts just made him relax more after that match eh... lol ..
A match against Ebdon would go some way to sorting out Trump's head. He'd probably get so nervous that he'd give up snooker.
Trump beat Ebdon 5-1 in the QF of the 2011 China Open, the first tournament he ever won, and also beat Ebdon 9-1 in the SF of the International Championship this season. So I don't think he has any problems playing Ebdon.
