On the other hand, Walden could reach the World final by beating Michael Holt, Robert Milkins, Michael White and Barry Hawkins. On paper, this would probably be the easiest route anyone has had in the history of the game. But there is nothing Walden can do about it, he is just beating the players in front of him. No one will ever know what the last4 would be, had the draw been different.
I guess they have somewhat different styles. Hawkins is a pretty composed player, playing at his comfortable consistent pace, while Walden ranges from running around the table potting everything and taking a long time to consider certain situations. The end result is the same though, they both get the job done, taking their chances when they come. I think Hawkins has the edge on safety, which could maybe prove vital over 33 frames. I think this could be a similar match to Carter-Perry from 2008, staying close throughout, hopefully with a nervy and dramatic finish.
